As quiet as white clouds filling the sky, is the radiant white that covers all around us now. As radiant as the sparkling sunlight, as generous and welcome as a blessing, is the perfect, settled, first snow here in Vermont.
After two days of snow, then sleet, then all of it all over again, the scenery is remarkably transformed. Eyes of wonder behold a brand new scene. All the trees left naked by fall winds are wearing proud coats of white fur. I can’t get enough of the blazing glory of the first thick snow.
White upon white, and more white upon more white. So much definition of each covered branch, so many white coated fir trees against the white sky. We are in a Currier and Ives winter oil painting. It is quite like God, with snow brush in Hand, whispered “hush” – stand still and drink in the peace and beauty that is given to you.
